CouponMeApp is an addon that says it was built to help computer users to save money when they shop online. According to the program, you will not have to do anything just continue browsing like you always did and special discounts will popup automatically. The problem about CouponMeApp is that it is usually installed without users’ consent and it becomes very annoying because of constant flow of ads which cannot be stopped. Moreover, if it remains on your computer, it may bring you some privacy related issues.
CouponMeApp has an ability to monitor your browsing habits, like what websites you are visiting and what search queries you are using. This helps the program to generate ads that would meet personal interests of every computer user. However, it also means that CouponMeApp will have access to some of your personal information, like emails, IP address and even your passwords. This greatly increases the risk of privacy violation.
In addition to collecting personal information of the users, the adware also makes money from affiliate marketing. CouponMeApp Ads contains links to a lot of commercial websites and if you click on them, you are helping them to build affiliate revenue instantly. Don’t forget that the ads may also redirect you to malicious websites where your computer can be infected. It is strongly recommended to remove CouponMeApp Ads as soon as they start interfering your browsing activity.
To avoid adware invasion, you have to be more careful when browsing online. Never click on suspicious messages or links as you can unconsciously install a lot of unwanted programs. Also be more careful with your downloads. Beware that many adware come bundled to free downloads, so be very careful and always read their Terms and Agreements. Also follow the installation steps and deselect all preselected checkboxes indicating about additional downloads.
