Hello. Yesterday I got a Trojan horse virus called Match.com popups on my Dell laptop with Win 7 Home Premium and ZoneAlarm firewall. AVG anti virus notified me but could not removed it. I tried to fix it but no luck. Is there an effective and simple way that is able to catch and remove Trojan horse Generic_r.CIW virus completely? Any help will be appreciated.
Match.com popups Virus Description
Match.com popups is a newly-released Trojan infection which could be detected by some security software but can never be removed completely. Match.com popups is mainly promoted via hacked websites, spam email attachments and freeware downloads, which is expert in utilizing security loopholes to spread its corrupted codes into other computers in fast speed.
With the installation processes of those infected programs, this Trojan can sneak into target computers without users'notice. If computer users are careless when opening E-mail, this Trojan can also infiltrate their computers as hackers use fake E-mail to transmit this Trojan as well. Trojan infection can be easily caught by anti-virus programs, however, it doesn't mean the security tools are able to remove it completely. For those hackers who make this Trojan, they have already noticed that, so this Trojan can damage the anti-virus program once it comes to the target computer, which means it can disable the anti-virus program to run. Manual Removal Guides:
1.Reboot the PC and keep pressing F8 key on the keyboard upon PC startup but before logging in. Hit the arrow keys to choose "Safe Mode with Networking" option, and then tap Enter key to enter Safe Mode with Networking.
2.Find Ctrl, Alt, and Delete these 3 keys and then press them together to open task manager to end the process related to this Trojan, the name of the process of it is random.
3.Try to find Folder Options in Control Panel, select the View tab, and then tick Show hidden files and folders and non-tick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and then click OK.
4.Open Registry entries. Search malicious files and registry entries related to Match.com popups and then remove all of them.
5. Delete all add-ons related to Match.com popups from the browsers
Google Chrome
Click on wrench icon-> locate Tools-> click on Extensions-> click on the bin icon or uncheck the items related to Match.com popups.
Internet Explorer
Click Tools>select "Manage Add-ons">"search providers">set Yahoo or other reputable search engine as your default one>go to "search results">remove its add-ons
Mozilla Firefox
Click on Firefox button-> click on Add-ons-> search for all the extensions of Match.com popups from the list-> click on the Remove button on each line.

Match.com popups is a horrible Trojan dropper detected by AVG and it will distribute infectious files onto the corrupted PC without your consent and awareness. Once it is executed, it is able to add certain registry entries that allow the harmful code to run each time you start Windows. Thus, your antivirus program will keep reporting this virus but never let you remove it completely. It can notably slow down PC performance and distribute pop-up ads on the compromised machine.
